In the heart of Occitanie, the Fronton vineyard lies between the two iconic pink cities of South-West France, Toulouse and Montauban. Spread across 2,400 hectares and 20 communes in the Tarn-et-Garonne and Haute-Garonne departments, the vines flourish on the terraces along the left bank of the Tarn River.

Around 40 winemakers and one cooperative winery bring this terroir to life, defined by its emblematic grape variety found nowhere else in the world: Négrette. 

The Maison des Vins et du Tourisme de Fronton is the ideal starting point for discovering the region. Its team offers advice on local attractions and activities, hosts complimentary tastings throughout the year, and features a wine shop showcasing more than 150 cuvées from across the AOP.

A wide range of experiences awaits in this peaceful, green setting: meeting producers, visiting cellars, walking or cycling through the vineyards, or following the Canal des Deux Mers at your own pace.

In summer, the area comes alive with a lively events programme, including wine and food festivals, the gourmet markets of Les Buissonnières, aperitif concerts and traditional open-air cafés.

Awarded the Vignobles & Découvertes label in 2013, the Cahors Vineyards in the Lot Valley extend across 45 communes within the Cahors PDO area, covering nearly 4,000 hectares. From Catus to Villesèque and from Soturac to Arcambal, a remarkable diversity of terroirs gives each wine its distinctive character. Between limestone plateaus and winding valleys, the vineyard has always been intimately linked to the Lot River — a presence that continues to shape both landscape and identity. These unique terroirs and time-honoured savoir-faire have sculpted striking scenery, best admired from hillside viewpoints or from boats still gliding along the river’s meanders.

Culture seekers will appreciate the Grand Site Occitanie “Cahors – Vallée du Lot”, built around three emblematic centres, two of which lie within the PDO area: Cahors, a designated City of Art and History, and Puy-l’Évêque, a picturesque medieval hilltop town. Just east of the vineyard, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie — ranked among France’s Most Beautiful Villages — completes the cultural landscape.

In the heart of Occitan Tuscany, the Gaillac vineyards reveal a distinctive way of life. Perched villages, red-brick bastides, rolling hills and ancient vines create a landscape that is both soothing and vibrant, worthy of a postcard. Here, wine tourism has an authentic feel: tastings among the vines, walks through the vineyards, and convivial aperitif concerts hosted by winemakers. Gaillac also stands out for its strong wine identity, a mosaic of wines crafted from rare local grape varieties such as Braucol, Mauzac and Loin-de-l’Œil. Located between southern Cahors and Montauban — the pink city renowned for its art and history — the vineyard is dotted with villages of timeless charm. The vineyard is built around Cabernet Franc (40–60%), alongside Merlot, Auxerrois, Tannat and Gamay. Their personality and finesse allow for harmonious pairings with the local gastronomy.

The Bergerac & Duras vineyards extend over nearly 11,000 hectares on both sides of the Dordogne Valley. Spread across seven distinct terroirs and encompassing 17 appellations, this wine region offers remarkable diversity, from powerful reds and fruity rosés to crisp dry whites, mellow whites and beautifully refined sweet wines. Among the most renowned are Monbazillac, Pécharmant, Côtes de Duras, Montravel and Saussignac.

Passionate winemakers open the doors of their estates for visits, tastings and welcoming, original wine tourism experiences. Between medieval bastides, the generous gastronomy of the South-West and walks through the vines, discover an art of living rooted in conviviality, flavour and authenticity.

The Jurançon vineyards stretch across sun-drenched hills south of Pau, between 300 and 400 metres in altitude. These steep slopes benefit from a temperate oceanic climate combined with the influence of the Pyrenees, creating ideal conditions for the slow ripening of local grape varieties. 

Petit Manseng, the emblematic grape, is harvested by hand in successive passes. It produces both dry and sweet wines, prized for their vibrant acidity, aromatic intensity and remarkable ageing potential. Many winemakers, working organically or in conversion, champion precise craftsmanship and a human-scale approach to viticulture.

Some terroirs evoke travel at the mere sound of their name. Irouléguy is one of them. Nestled in the heart of the Basque mountains, just minutes from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and Saint-Étienne-de-Baïgorry, this small mountain vineyard clings to the steep slopes of the Pyrenees.
